India in Canada

At first even I didnt believed that there is "India in Canada" but after going to this place yesterday, I was really surprised and felt like Iam in India for some time. Yes, in Richmond city of Canada there is a place called "Little India". This little india covers some 3-4 lanes of this city. Here you see most of the residents are Indians (especially Punjabis). Shopping stores, hair cutting saloons, pan ki dukaan, cloth stores, mithaai ki dukaan etc etc are all like typically Pune,Mumbai, Delhi style. There are shops on the footpath side, vehicles parked in front of the shops. You smell the delicious smell of the sweets prepared in the kitchens. The sign board of stores are in Hindi. When you stroll along the lanes looking at each of the shops, you literally feel as if you are walking along some streets of Deccan,Laxmi road of Pune or Dadar in Mumbai.(I dont know abt other cities but have stayed in Pune,Mumbai so mentioned these two). After a very long time I heard the word "Bhai Sahab" in one of the Indian grocery stores. After staying in US for a year, my ears have become used to the words like "Hi How are you". But our Desi word Bhai Sahab really made me feel that Yes, this is "India" but due to small area its "Little".
